Sunny May Day in Green Hill

The May long weekend at Zielone Wzgórze Recreation Center in Karpacz, which began yesterday, was a veritable rollercoaster of joy and breathless delight. From the very morning, laughter and sighs of relief were audible as the first guests, breathless yet delighted, climbed steep Poznańska Street to reach our secluded retreat at the foot of the Karkonosze Mountains. Their backpacks were heavy, their legs might have trembled, but the views of the green hills and Śnieżka Mountain in the spring sunshine were worth every step. At Green Hill, they were welcomed like good friends – with smiles, the smell of freshly baked bread, and the promise of carefree days.

The first day of the May long weekend had firmly settled into the hearts of the holidaymakers. After unpacking their bags, some set off for a walk to soak up the Karkonosze landscapes, while others sat on the terrace with a cup of tea, chatting and admiring the panorama. The children, wasting no time, took over the lawns, where balls flew through the air and giggles carried to the neighboring hills. The evening brought the warmth of the campfire, where conversations flowed briskly, and memories of the trip mingled with plans for the coming days.

Today, the second day, Zielone Wzgórze is bustling with activity from the early morning. The sun is warm, birds are singing, and the aroma of coffee and fresh rolls wafts through the dining room. Guests are making plans – some dreaming of a lazy afternoon reading a book on a deckchair, others are already lacing up their shoes, ready to explore the trails. There’s that special May Day lightness in the air, where time slows down and every smile seems to say, “Here and now is the best.” At Green Hill, May Day isn’t just about relaxation; it’s a celebration of small joys that linger in the memory like the most beautiful Karkonosze mountain view.
